Finally managed to score one of these locally, although in the current climate I'm not able to claim it at the moment. (aye, there's the rub)

Looking forward to finally having one of these machines. I've got an Apple
IIe (and one hell of a tricked out IIe at that) but I've wanted a GS for some of the more advanced capabilities and gaming it offers.

Ah well I suppose it gives me time to lineup any expansions I'd want/need. Probably RAM, some VGA or SCART conversion and one of those stereo sound expansions I guess.

Any other Apple IIgs or Apple II fans out there?

I've considered taking the plunge, but with my already growing 8/16bit addiction, I don't think I would have the room or a wife if I did, lol.

LOL I'd love to play with a IIGS, but never even got to play back in the day.

:D I can understand that, thus I try to sell my console stuff to make room
and provide a bankroll for computer stuff. :D

Although aside from a couple instances where I got a huge lot of something. I tend to just have 1 or 2 of a particular line as to have examples of the various hardware. So that helps keep it smaller, somewhat. :)

For example I really only need 2 Amiga machines to cover the general spread. One ECS/OCS and one AGA. With Atari ST machines I really need a 1040, Mega, STE, MegaSTE, TT and a Falcone. (That's a hard one to round out sadly). With Apple II I really technically just need an Apple IIGS since that covers the bases but I got the Apple IIe awhile back for fixing a bunch of Apple IIe's
for a friend. Also that was a school computer for me so playing Lemonade
Stand and Oregon Trail on a real IIe is just exhilarating honestly.

The x86 line is a hard one to figure out for me though. I'd love to get a Leading Edge that has a case like my grandfather had for nostalgia. For hardware though I've got a P233MMX, 486dx4 laptop w/dock, PII laptop, various P4 machines, Celeron desktop (runs the BBS) and a 386sx that I need to
rebuild some traces on from a battery leak. So covers all the game/app/dev/bbs things I want do.

Argh just talking about it formulates new rationale for purchasing. LOL

MSX ooooh I'm so coming for you when I have money, who wants to buy
consoles??? come on! someone out there wants a TurboDuo and lots of games :D
