• InterLORD

From Netsurge@77:1/100 to All on Sat Jun 29 20:09:56 2019
    Ryan, Mickey and Micheal:

You guys should now have the needed InterLORD files in your inbound (interbbs.cfg & igminfo.dat) to get your InterLORD going. You should also already have il*.77 files in your inbound for processing.

Remember: If you are running dosemu you need to modify your dosemu.conf file
(I posted here about it earlier) and you need to install PKZIP/PKUNZIP and apply the DPMI fix I talked about in the SCIBBS post earlier today.

Let me know if you have any questions.

I don't think the version really matters, but I have 4.06.

Currently InterLORD will not allow any other IGMS, that is by design. I have been compiling a list of allowable IGMS that I will release shortly.

Now that we have the InterLORD game up and running properly with a few
systems (still looking at you Ryan, lol).

I'd like to open up a conversation about the following:

Reset Times - I was thinking the first day of the month, seeing as the game just got underway a few days ago, we should be good until August 1.

IGMS - Currently I have the rules set to no IGMS and Interlord checks each system to make sure that is the case. I'd like to work on a list of 5 or 6
IGMS that the league will allow. I really don't have much experience or exposure to IGMS so anyone with any knowledge and ideas of what would work, I am all ears.

I like the reset 1st of month -- makes things easier to remember and track.
And I think this first month is more of a trial and error to make sure no issues so doesn't really count... unless I win of course (haha jk -- but if Frank wins it doesn't count for sure!)

    Thanks!

The Castle ColdDrake IGM was written in ummmmm, 94/95 I think? I worked with
a local folk artist KJ Radkey to develop the storyline then coded it and created the simple ansi graphics. It sold probably 100 units so I never
really got rich on it. It did fare quite well with the IGM Curmudgeon in his reviews though he never really liked our install routine which basically is a 'hands-off' installer. He complained that installing IGMs wasnt 'that hard' and that it used too much memory... hahahaha! He also said that it was one
of the only IGMs that he truly enjoyed following the storyline.

Try it out. I think you will enjoy it. If Frank approves it then anyone who joins the League gets a free reg code. Hell, anyone who asks can get a free regcode. ;) Its too damn late to get rich off of these things <sigh>...

You joke but I for a short time tried to port over "Mystic Island" to iOS but it wasn't worth trying to convert ANSI graphics over to an iOS application.
I always wanted to keep the BBS terminal feel to the game.

It was more of a learning exercise but least now I feel I can still do something keeping the true BBS experience even if won't make any money.

And I too like to take advantage of new technology to push the limits of the old to do something new and exciting with it.

Like MRC for example -- I think it is a great way to use new Internet technology to do something you could never do in the old dial up days but
still fits within the classic BBS client experience. It's also helps bridge
the gap between other BBSs to connect them in real time experience for all users that participate.

Can you check your logs as see why your system didn't take the reset last
    night in InterLORD.

There is no way you could be at level six in 12 hours.

I just reset it manually today, not sure what's going on with it. But, yeah. I'm likely still going to wipe and re-install it, while I still have the ibbs stuff setup with it, but, I've been trying to reach out to GamePort for issues I'm having, specifically with the registration stuff. I've gotten no reply in already 1 week of waiting. Kinda annoying. :)

I'm surprised they are still supporting anything in todays day and age.
Besides John Dailey and all of their stuuf, I don't know many other
companies out there that are still supporting old BBS software.

Yeah... So far, GamePort has not responded to any emails. And I saw a webpage from lordlegacy about it back several years ago now as well, 2013-ish I think, with the same issue.

I think it's pretty much deemable as abandonware at this point. And I'm not shelling out one red cent for someone that doesn't even take the time to spend a 5 minutes to give a simple reply. So Hmmmmmmmm.... Now, how to actually FIX the issue at hand where it keeps saying my registration is "illegally registered" (yet, it's not, just GamePort won't respond!)

4.06, I... think. Seems difficult to verify that since lordcfg, in the node editor anyway, says 4.02m, but the whatsnew file says 4.06.

Yeah. Once I went to the Trainer enough times, at a certain point, it stopped letting me, with the whole thing saying "Since the sysop illegally registered their LORD...." etc etc...

I was... Pissed, to say the least. ;)

You could try another registration as it seems to be abandoned.

    Hello and good morning Netsurge

I too would like to join the door league.

But my question is does anyone have the right setting for Apam's kewl games
    for SBBS?

Also I am hooked up with this network through QWK but would need the setup
    for file transfer using FTN.

    Thanks!

    You are all setup.

You should have interbbs.cfg and igminfo.dat in your inbound waiting for you.

Let me know if you have any issues with getting it up and running.
