• Clans dosemu?

From Embalmed@77:1/133 to All on Tue Feb 25 00:43:00 2020
So, clans isn't working for me it just seems to hang in the install process
    in dosemu.

I thought I read somewhere there was a compilable version of the clans for 64 bit linux?

Ok, so I found the linux 32 bit version 0_96b2 from sourceforge and got that setup, only there is no CONFIG program, looks like just a clans.cfg

I setup most of this but there is no example for what goes in the #InterBBS section. Do you guys have a working clans.cfg i could look at?

There is, but I don't think it ever worked properly. I run it in dosemu and I know others do as well without issue.

Are you using the archive in the SciNet info pack? Can you turn on the
debugger in dosemu and see where it is failing.

I don't think the InterBBS functionality of the linux port of Clans ever
worked properly. I could be wrong though.

Yes the archive from the info pack, when i extract it there is an
install.exe, I run that and it says please wait while we extract the files,
and nothing ever happens. I left it there for several hours just to make
    sure.

When I try to attach dosdebug to the process the process crashes.
If you have any pointers on how to properly debug this kind of thing I would
be appreciative, I think I had similar issues with Ambroshia, but it's been a couple weeks and I already forgot what blocked me from getting that one working.

Ahh, I think I know what might be happening. Have you applied the DPMI fix
that is listed in the infopack?

Here is something interesting, if i type list in the install.exe i can see lists of files.
If i type extract clans.exe it extracts fine.

but when i run install it does jack shit.
I'm going to try extracting all the files that show up in list

What version of dosemu are you running?

I just tried installing clans from scratch in dosemu and it went without a hitch, including running install.exe.

I am running 1.4.0.8, I wonder if it is just a version issue.

    Woops, missed this part.

Just $_cpu_emu = "fullsim" which you already confirmed you did as it is one
of the steps in fixing the DPMI issue.
