I have been toying with setting up some InterBBS games, kinda like the old League 77 games like BRE, TAL, InterLORD, etc..

Thoughts? Would people be interested in joining?

I think fsxNet has that (I just emailed Avon about it, in fact). My personal preference is to keep the games interesting, which means 1) lots of players, which means 2) only one net should feature it so we don't fragment too much. But if you build it, I'll probably wanna partake :P

I love what the guys at fsxNet are doing but part of me, and I might just be pipe dreaming here, is to bring SciNet back to it's glory when we had a
flurry of activity and many active users in it's league 77 interbbs games.

The Diskshop has recently been reddit'd which has brought a huge amount of
new users. I know most of them will never return, but there is a core group
of have been calling daily to play the games, a lot of them play BRE and FE. These games tend to be bbs vs bbs based instead of inter-user on a BBS based. I'd like to build a collection of systems where these users could be spread
out in order to play each other properly.

Interesting. I should throw monterey on there once it's ready...I'm fairly active there anyway :)

I like interbbs games. I also like game servers with BBSes participating.
Think TWGS (TradeWars Game Server) which I have. I also think H&S is a good
    one for that :)

About 10 years ago or so there was a massive group of players who used to hop around from system to system and play BRE in league 10.

They would chat in the message networks about splitting up and heading to various BBSes to have at it. For a while, then, the Diskshop would see 20-30 calls a day just to play BRE.

I have emailed the BRE, TAL and FE author numerous times to either recover my old keys or buy new ones, to no avail. I also can't find keys to 0.998
anywhere online. I'm totally willing to pay for it again, but without a response from those guys I'm stuck.

Are you talking about John Dailey? He's always been responsive in my experience. Let me know if you try registering stuff at jdsoftware and he doesn't respond.

Yes. There is only a support form you fill out, no actual email address and
if I try to buy something via their site I get a page saying that they will
be setting up online ordering sonn :(

Lame. Well, if you need some reg codes in a pinch, let me know, you can
always change them down the road once you register these things yourself ;)

I appreciate it. Do you have alternate contact methods for them?
