From Netsurge@77:1/100 to All on Sat Oct 26 16:39:22 2019
I've been a bit withdrawn from SciNet and BBSing in general. We are preparing to do a full reno of the house (gutting it from top to bottom and re-laying
    the entire house).

We are in the middle of packing everything so it can be stored and we have to move out for 4-6 months. I've been busying packing and wondering why the fuck we have so many things.

There will be a bit of downtime next weekend as I have to physically move everything to the house we have rented. When I know the exact timing of it, I will let everyone know.

OK... what should be the proper cause of action to this? Should we stop
polling for 2-3 days and re-enable polling afterwards? or leave it as it is?

The actual FTN system is offsite, so mail flow will be fine. Services like
the uucp <-> netmail gateway and the SciNet gopher server (Yippie!) will go dark for about 12 hours.

UseNET, which I have both nodes, I was appalled by the trash language I saw

I dropped fidonet a while back, I only ever had a small selection of
echos (for the same reason as you) but those echos were mostly dead
    (except for the advertisements ones).

I can handle a few swear words here and there, but some of the talk in
some echos was just rotten, and not really because of the swearing.

That, and I was never brave enough to post on it, for fear of angering

A Wise Man .... Here in Florida allot of folks do the very same. Especially during hurricane season. Outside of that, that comment is just plain wise.

When I was young, I always thought he was just a pessimist. It wasn't until I got older, and realized what he was doing. :)

For me, I'll just leave it trying to poll. It'll give me a bunch of
errors in the log files, but then again, so does trying to connect to my
    Fidonet RC...

lol, yeah fidonet is falling the f**k apart..

It's not falling apart - it's broken. Permanently.

He is shooting something from his body, just not lightning or from his eyes.

I actually do that at work, just so they don't think I'm perfect. ;)

Curious how the move was going and if you have come up for a deep breath yet. Did not want to bother and was waiting to ask if you have time to set up two Door games on NET 77 for me?

Would like to get enabled Falcons Eye and iLORD (LORD 1) enabled on NET 77
    of IBBS net play.

let me know when you have time to do this and I will pull the Doc's from the infopak on setup ... Thanks!!

Until the house is ready and we are moved back in, everything is a moving target.

We moved some 25 km away from our house so getting my son to school, driving
to work and interacting with the contractor all takes longer than usual so my time has been cut back on things like the bbs and SciNet.

Saying that, my time is cut back, not cut out completely. I still have time
to login, read/post and preform whatever tasks need preforming.

I'll send you the needed files for FE and InterLord tomorrow morning once I
get settled in for the day. All the steps for getting the games going are listed in the info pack. If you have any issues with getting them setup,
don't hesitate to reach out here and there are plenty of us who can help.

You should have interbbs.cfg (For InterLord) and fenodes.dat (For Falcons
    Eye) in your inbound folder.

If you need help getting it going or have any questions, don't hesitate to
    ask them here.

Received the files, Falcon Eye set up all good.

    Error ...
iLord is asking for a file called IGMINFO.DAT .... reading the lordsetup.txt from the infopak it indicates this file needed into the INTERLORD directory.

Was this file supposed to be in the files sent ?

My bad, I forgot to send it to you. I dropped it in your inbound so you
