I might have missed it. What did you told us, exactly?

The low amount of traffic allows us to really drill down on the topics being discussed. Focus our thoughts.

That'd be a negative. When scinet started flowing again I also receieved a response to a fidonet netmail ping I set out back in early April.

I also sent him an email & netmail the first time everything went down, but didn't hear anything back.

I have also netmailed and e-mailed Frank -- although regarding a nodelist change -- but haven't heard anything back. I hope he's OK...

Has the scinet nodelist rolled out yet?

The latest one I have here is scinet.099, dated April 9, 2021.

    Best regards

I checked just now & didn't see anything come through yesterday.

No, last comms from him on SciNet was February and he didn't respond to my attempts to communicate directly (as a direct email on his board as well as
DMs on Discord). I sincerely hope he's ok. I asked for a sign of life.

Considering my feeds from him were down for a bit (seemingly for everyone)
but are now fixed, I assume he's ok and he fixed it, he just did one of his Irish Goodbye things that he has a tendency to do. That said, the totally predictable disappearing act does frustrate me and once he inevitably comes back I'll be dropping SciNet.

To everyone that was worried, to include myself, please be happy knowing he appears to be fine and is active in other places and we can all just go fuck ourselves for being worried. He's not responding to me directly on discord
but is active in his flavor of the month hobby. So our fears aren't realized, but it's frustrating nevertheless.

I don't know, I find most of the nets are half dead anyway, so his absence doesn't terribly affect me as long as things keep running. Although if I was a new BBS trying to join, I'd be pissed

That's the thing. For most of the last two months, there was ZERO
traffic in SciNet because something was broken/down, and he did not notice/care, and wouldn't respond to contact attempts.

Not a very professional way to run a network, IMHO. Yeah.... I know
    it's a hobby, but still.

Yeah.... I know it's a hobby, but still.

Can't scinet be configured so that other participating systems
can move mail amongst themselves despite 77:1/0 being down?

I would think so, but not entirely sure.

That's something that would have to be answered by Frank, and well....,
    you know.

From a technical perspective, yes. It may go against the network rules, though. I am not sure about that.
