Gryphons mods are incredible, as are XQTR's and many others. Anyone that can code is a great learning experience for me. I'm not judging any. I do also like the bt-gassell mod (not sure who wrote it) and love some of the python work others do. What I like about the bt-gassell mod is the well commented (essentially documentation) that helps explain what he/she did. I wouldn't expect that from anyone and was surprised when I saw it. It's good resource, even if the mod is not used on someones BBS. Dream Master writes some fun stuff!

Ok, so I totally agree. I really don't have anything bad to say about anyone contributing to the hobby.
I can't carry ALL mods on my system, right? I mean, I'd have 15 last callers displayed at pre-login; BUT
take all 15 and I can make the perfect one for me, and it was those last who contributed that taught me how.
I too love anyone who participates and is active. I have found a lot of helpful people since re-starting
this hobby in April (for the first time in over 20 years) and wow have things changed. I missed Linux,
Mystic completely, Python, obviously MPL, and some incredible and insane ANSI art. Not to mention
the more modern capabilities of BBS's. I have to carry two themes on my BBS simply to experience
the old school 80x25 stuff, while also experiment with all of the more "modern to me" stuff
available. I'm very excited to be here and look forward to getting to know those I currently don't.

The Coffee one for good general chat, the DC and Marvel Comics, ummm ... autos, gun discussion no debate, the dads echo I even spent $50 to try to start an all pro dad thing on fido net, it would have been cool, but no participation .. umm .. the home and garden echo .. and I could think of more but most sit stagnant, or as stated, fizzle out quickly when not engaged frequently. Other networks just have more activity on a consistent and sustained bases then many Fido echo's do. It's ok, not knocking it, I'll keep them around for a while, but just find it to be a mostly inactive network comparatively to the number of echos available. This is not an exclusive issue to Fido either .. there are other networks I could think of that have been inactive for some time. If the net admin is active, the network tends to do well :)

lol! OMG, yeah, it's best to check the temperament of an echo prior to posting an unrelated topic. I've learned that over time. I recall when new, and not aware I was asking for something that would create such a debate, if there would be a way to upgrade the gy-blam mod to recognize non standard port numbers. I had NO clue how to code at the time, still learning, but back then I was blessed to have just gotten telnet to answer for my BBS. It turned into quite the heavy debate about hub flags and all kinds of things. I ducked for cover :)
