• Hpt areafix

From Rick Smith@77:1/130.1 to All on Sun Nov 1 09:37:58 2020
    Greetings All!

Now that I solved my HPT/BINKD setup problems.. I noticed one last thing not behaving as expected that I can see to solve with the docs... If I send my system an areafix to the fido addy it works as expected and responds to the request... However if I send to an areafix request to say my scinet network from my point it doesnt respond.. Is there something I can look for? I found the areafix documentation not addressing this issue...

I suspect it's something with your routing on your main 77:1/130 system. Your system is sending your 77:1/130.1 areafix requests to my system which is in turn sending them back to you as .1 is a point of your system.

I would check your hpt routing and make sure you have a statement for your point node.

Ah, thank you... I just noticed that on my main system there is a bunch of netmail that my login cant read so when looking at the actual files I noticed they are indeed scinet responses for areafix... I have probably been doing the same thing to AVON... many apologies HPT is a new adventure for me..

No worries. A dedicated route statement for your point node in your husky config will fix that right up.

The husky project is very powerful but daunting for beginners. Once you learn your way around it you will come to realize how many things it can do.

Thank you. Do you run it with mystic too? I have pretty much got it with a few things remaining to figure out. Like one thing we noticed yesterday testing, I sent a fsxnet netmail via mystic, hpt packed it correctly looked fine in logs and it got to the recipient, but when looking at kludge line it had a via line with my fido addy instead of fsxnet netmail addy? any idea how that happens?

I do run it as I also use it for netmail tracking (making sure dupe loops or bad source/destinations aren't used) and for gating netmail to email which is something Mystic can't do. Mystic itself is more than powerful enough to use for echomail and fileecho processing though. It's perfect as an out of the box solution.

I would have to take a peek at your configs in order to figure out why your kludge lines are off. So many things it could be.

Id be happy to have you take a peek if your willing... How should I get them to you?
