Where is the latest (or best) version of binkd and ifcico?

I'm switching over to Synchronet and I thought I'd try out binkd as the frontend, and ifcico.

    Stretch has binkd version:
    binkd 1.0.5~pre5-1
    ifcico 2.14tx8.10-23

The ifcico is so I can feed my old DOS bbs (and a downlink that I have that uses ifcico.)

Why binkd when Synchronet has BinkIt natively designed for it in it's javascript engine? ;)

I've considered it, but then I saw that fileboxes werent supported?

Besides, I'm using binkd for another project, so it was a way of having
things consistent, and understanding one configuration/app really well...

Outboxes are supported, experimental currently, but supported. And I'll be using that here pretty soon with the IBBS stuff here, and if I do find any issues, I'll have the Synchronet devs actively able to help, and since BinkIt is in javascript, any issues I find can be quickly fixed and tested without too much effort. ;)

Besides, I'm using binkd for another project, so it was a way of having things consistent, and understanding one configuration/app really well...

I run my HUB server with BinkD, HPT, HTick, GED and RNTrack, and then I run my BBS with pretty much pure Synchronet. Really one of the main reasons I even got to building the HUB was Synchronet's Areafix rescan only allowed all or nothing, and itself didn't used to handle TIC at all, now it does with TickIT and HatchIT, all natively.

Does have some benefits, for sure, has some differences as well, no doubt.

You can get BinkD's latest source from https://github.com/pgul/binkd as for ifcico, I am not sure if it has been updated in the past 5 years.

So I've been giving BinkIT ago, and I agree, it works well.

However, I cannot get it to poll outbound to a host that is only IPv6 - have you done that?

I've tried the hostname (that only has AAAA records), [...] IPv6 address, IPv6 without [] and no luck.

    Any ideas?

It looks like BinkIT attempts to connect to whatever is configured here:

echocfg -> Linked Nodes -> [node] -> BinkP Settings -> Host

So I would expect hostname or IPv6 address (probably without []) to work. If not, it probably points to
a problem not with BinkIT but something more underlying in Synchronet.

When you try to poll this host, are you seeing "Connection to [address]:[port] failed." in your log?

    Yeah, that's what I'm using.

When you try to poll this host, are you seeing "Connection to [address]:[port] failed." in your log?

    Yes...

    Attempting poll for node 1337:1/0@tqwnet
    JSBinkP/1.120 callout to 1337:1/0@tqwnet started
    connecting to 1337:1/0@tqwnet at hub.uk.zt.erb.pw
    Connecting to 1337:1/0@tqwnet at hub.uk.zt.erb.pw:24556
    Connection to hub.uk.zt.erb.pw:24556 failed.

This address resolves to an AAAA record on ZeroTier (a VPN). I've tried using the IPv6 address as well, same resolt.

Manually connecting with "nc" works fine.

    Any ideas?
