I tried to attach the New Scan Date function into the new user process, but I haven't got it working perfectly yet.

I tried to do it programmatically with newuserapp.mps, but it didn't work out. I had it asking them to set the date, they set it, but then the new user does
a scan and they get old messages still.

So then I tried doing it with Mystic menus, FIRSTCMD, & user flags. It looks promising but I still don't have it working smoothly yet.

Let me know if you have any suggestions in this process and I'll post back
here if I ever get it working right.

Just a heads up, we've been talking about it here in the Mystic message base but soon in a build of a47, g00r00 has added this feature and a few different ways to implement it. Its gonna be baked right into the new user setup menus in mystic -cfg... however, if you're still interested in getting it working for new users before a stable release of a47:

I was going to try two things, I was either going to try and set scan dates FOR the user, in FIRSTCMD like you did... if you have the user set their dates AFTER their account is created (in PRELOGIN, FIRSTCMD) it should set them, right? I can understand a failure in newuserapp.mpx- thats before the account is created. I assume.

However, TBH I'm not gonna write anything medium/big on this knowing that g00r00 has it baked into a semi-near a47 build.
