    Hello All!

Just watched NOBODY last night. Very good. Never boring. I
liked its overall dark atmosphere, protagonist with a
mysterious past, the chain of consequences.. and a because of
his daughter's missing kittybracelet. The mob boss psychopath
    was excellent.

It is not unlike something I could picture Bruce Willis in as
the lead, but this seemed fresh and different.

There's a short scene about a minute or two after the start of
    the credits.

The story ending is structured to be open for a sequel or "more
    to the story".

The film had a very cool selection of music throughout.

The film was reminiscent of what Quentin Tarantino might
produce. The stylized and choreographed fighting scenes were
    well executed and well edited.

The music and the wild/crazy action scenes are what reminded me
    of the Tarantino style.

Some humour, but never in a cheap or disposable way.

The scene with him reaching into his jacket pocket during
"interrogation" is memorable. The film provides the backstory
    for that very nicely.

someone said that it is the poor man's John Wick, but.. i didn't see
John Wick yet, so i really enjoyed Nobody! maybe its time to watch the
    John Wick trilogy? :)

I've haven't come across the "poor man's" comment, but John
Wick is another that I am now interested in checking out.

"Former hitman.. returns to underworld he chose to leave
    behind"

That sounds close to the basis for Nobody, indeed.

Nobody was written by the same guy that did John Wick and John Wick 3 so that's where a lot of the similarities come from. I'm a big fan of the Wick movies. Enjoyed Nobody as well.

I finished watching John Wick last night. Similaries betweenú
it and Nobody abound. I thought the lines beween the Russianú
mob leader and his son when the father asks "From who did youú
steal the car?" ... Son answers, "Nobody" ..was pretty funny -
given that I had just watched Nobody a few days prior.ú

John Wick was clearly a more polished production, and a serious
storyline throughout. The part where Wick and the mob bossú
duke it out "in honour" to the death reminded me of anotherú
film that plays out exactly like that - but I can't rememberú
    what film that was.ú

I just always find it funny that mobsters or assassins have noú
trouble killing people they basically don't know.. but they get
very upset when one of their own (a wife, a kid, or anotherú
gang member) is killed by someone.ú

Nobody relied on some humour every now and then and (in myú
opinion) had a Tarantino comic-book style to the staging of the
    scenes.ú

One scene in John Wick was very bad technically. The sceneú
where they draw the female assassin to a particular place andú
is surrounded by four gunmen standing around her to form aú
four-cornered square, and shoot at her. If that were real,ú
that would make the diametrically opposed gunmen pointing their
guns at each other - thus shooting themselves! I thought thatú
    was a badly staged.ú

The first John Wick film was 2014. I was practically tuned out
of films and movies at that time, so it is not surprising that
I missed hearing about it. John Wick was a pretty good cat-n-
mouse hunt-n-chase. I'm going to give the sequels a try,
    albiet later.

Yes, they are all very good. I'm waiting on John Wick 4....

And it had Bob Odenkirk as the lead, what more could you ask for. I agree with the film being reminiscent of what Quentin Tarantino productions.

A few others I've enjoyed, maybe not as solid but still worth a look:

The Hitman Wifes Bodyguard - great humor, Quentin Tarantino feel to it also.

Wrath of Man - my favorite action actor Jason Statham; if you've seen and liked any of his films, expect the same type of action and plot. Nothing suprising about his films, but all seem to deliver when in the mood.

Ok, I took your suggestion- I watched NOBODY today. I was pleasantly
surprised. I liked it. I mean, Bob Odenkirk.. but he was like so badass in
it.. gun action.. It kinda left me hanging if there was going to be a part 2. You are right though, it had a certain Tarantino feel to it.

RIGHT?!??! It felt "Breaking Bad meets Pulp Fiction" to me and/or Breaking bad with Michael Douglas. I too hope for a part 2 as well. Another good one is Wrath of Man, but not everyone will appreciate the simplicity of guns blasing action as I do ;)

Just watched it last night. I thought this was going to be a
standard 90 min movie.. but turned out to be 2 hrs. :(

The gutshot effects + "live" blood splatter was pretty good.

I had trouble understanding Mr Jason Statham most of the time.
    He seemed to mumble.

I was wondering how the story was going to deal with his
    character's origin..

I suppose the film deals with a small part of Mr H's life as he
investigates the death of his son and who was responsible.. so
his own background isn't necessary? But the scene where..

Overall, not a bad story. It's not much different from similar
films that involve a main character that we get to know very
little about as we partake in his journey to settle a score.

Thanks for mentioning the film. But I think some other actor
might have been a more convincing Mr H.
