• RetroNet?

From SirRonmit@21:2/120 to ALL on Sun Aug 27 08:03:06 2023
I have not been able to poll from RetroNet for a few months and no messages go through or are received. What gives? The BBS link is also down.

Should I just remove the message bases from my BBS?

Were there ever any messages in RetroNet? Asking because once, long ago,
I figured it might be a good net for the last Atari ST BBS to join...
Turns out I was "too retro" for their allowable connection methods. Then
I started looking at the activity level and realized it was another one
of a "Serial Net Starter-upper's" DeadNets.

Would have been a shame had that changed and I somehow missed it. :(

I know Spitfire from ROF BBS' was trying to revive it for Carlos, but he didn't know how to handle makenl to handle the nodelist.. So if Retro is gone, I am sure CommodoreNet, pInet are also gone, time to remove them from my systems.. Good ideas poor management...

... I put a dollar in one of those change machines. Nothing changed.

So just for clarification... Is it actually officially gone, or just
    "defunct"?

    I mean, did something happen?

Unknown. I NEVER received my PiNet auth for nearly 2 years and applied and applied. I have VM space if we need to take over those projects, but I do not have experience at all on being a HUB.

It actually had Atari stuff? Honestly, I never saw anything when I was
looking at that net, and I was checking the guy's BBS directly.

Honestly, do we really need any more dead nets?
