The 5.25" diskettes on floppydisk.com are all recycled.
And they aren't recycling them anymore according to their web page.

Good to know; they've all worked well, for me - but I hear ya.

Ya, it's sad. This is why I always recommend that people update their vintage hardware to use floppy emulators - especially if they like to
use them a lot and they have 5.25" drives.

The clock is running out on 5.25" floppy disks and 3.5" disks aren't
    that far behind.

I agree with you - thats actually my next C=64 project; I recently got around 200 original software (and user data) disks in a collection... I have to figure out how to use my SD2EIC solution to backup 5.25"s from the 1541 drive to my SDCard... I wanna get all 200 disks backed up.

I prefer to run on current solutions, but you always find the coolest stuff on actual disks IMO - for example, I found a KILLER computer store C=64 demo that lets you enter yer computer store name and C=64 price and runs thru a demo that would be displayed in-store... so rad; gotta get that one uploaded to archive.org and csdb.dk as neither one have it!!

Another rad thing about actual software; the C=64 Flight Simulator 2 boxed set comes with so much rad documentation, flight maps, etc etc... I can't wait to sit down for an hour with that game!

You might have to move to a Pi1541 for at least some of those disks, though. The SD2IEC that I have worked great, but I kept running into problems with some stuff. So I moved to a Pi1541 and I've had no problems with it on my C64 and Plus/4.

I still keep real drives around. I have a 1541-II set to device 9, on my Plus/4-C64 setup. But for "normal" usage, I always use floppy emulators now.

I think the only system that I have that is dependent on 5.25" diskettes is my Kaypro "1". But I don't use it very often.

you can use zoomfloppy or xum1541 for backuping up. i have both, but i prefer zoomfloppy.

Thanks for the links!! I haven't looked YET, but assume these are solutions that run on current hardware? I don't have a USB or current solution 5.25" DRIVE but these types of methods might make things go by a lot quicker.

I've got some investigating to do... thanks for your tips!!
