I noticed that before with Petscii... is the upper and lower actually
flipped on their table or is it a problem with some of the terms Petscii emulation?

I mean, I could google it I'm sure, but as an Atarian that offends my sensibilities. :)

If memory serves (which is questionable, these days), it's flipped on their table due to how it was originally implmented on the VIC-20 and they never changed it for compatibility reasons. It's (highly) likely that the terminal app is capable of taking care of that for me, but I literally just fired it
up to test a) 40 columns on the bbs and b) the Ultimate II+ I picked up a few months back.

For what it's worth, if the 8-bitters are shitting on the 16-bitters these days, it's almost certainly just in retaliation for the unmitigated amounts
of crap 16-bitters gave 8-bitters back in the day. :D Oh, how the turns have tabled.

It's just the family drama... Daddy went to live with his new Amiga and
we got a new Stepdaddy Tramiel.

Though I think from the BBS standpoint, it might have been that by the
time the 16 bits came into prominence (especially in BBS land) they had
moved away from BBS's and perhaps on to PCs. Probably why there is less nostalgia for them except from the crowd who actually stuck with the
Atari (or Commodore/Apple) machines longer and ran BBSs under those
    platforms.
