I am running Mystic on my R-Pi and have recently noticed a permission issue that I'd like some help with.

When I SSH or try to run the SysOp menu /* it tells me that I do not have permissions to do that.

Part of me like the idea of no one being able to get to the menu's remotely, but when you're trying to setup the BBS and need to confer with others, it kinda sucks.

I've tried chown user:user -R, which processed successfully but I still get the error. When I look at the permissions for the mystic folder, it reads as user:user normally.

Anyone have any ideas?

Since you've changed some permissions, did you restart Mystic by any chance?

I have, yes.

I had to do that to update to the latest kernel, so made that happen just the other day.

Has your user got ACS s255? Only the super user can access that menu.

Actually, you're going to laugh ... because I'm the idiot savant on this one.

When I was goiing through the menu's to determine what SL could access them, I changed the access level of Sysop to '255'.

As I was watching Mike setup HobbyNet I took notice to something that he did, and realized that the SL access needed to ist as 's255' instead.

So.... yeah ... I blame old age =)
