• Magicka TODO

From apam@21:1/125 to All on Wed Dec 5 17:39:56 2018
    Hi guys

I know I've not been doing much with magicka this last week, with doing
stuff on sprocketmud, synchronet etc.. don't panic! I don't plan on
    abandoning Magicka!

I thought I'd create a little todo list. Mainly because I have no issue
tracker and trying to remember things I'm meant to do (or that people
have asked for) isn't always easy.

So, this is what I have on my mind "TODO"

    1. Save draft when timing out in magiedit
    2. QWK offline mail

Actually that's all I can think of at present. I'm sure I've forgotten things... if you have anything to add.. please do :)

Cool, I'm happy to test QWK support. :)

Sounds good :) I tried it the other day and really liked it. Hoping to do
    more with it this week.

One thing I've noticed re-visiting the BBS scene after spending a lot of
years as a developer/devops guy is that none of the BBS software I have found provide any API's.

Picking up on some thoughts in your other thread apam, how cool would it be
if Synchronet, Magicka ;-) ,Mystic & Enigma BBS' developers could all get together and decide on a standard for a simple HTTP API for BBS operations?

I'm not really sure what you're looking for? Extensions to BBSes are
usually done as scripts or doors. Scripts vary from system to system, Synchronet has a huge amount of information on the wiki about the JS
functions you can use. Magicka did have all the lua functions documented
but I don't think it's made it to the wiki yet from documents.

It might be cool, do you mean for intercommunication? I'm not sure, If
there's a decent well documented system in place on one BBS, it would
make sense to adopt that as a standard than come up with something new.

A simple endpoint which could provide key functionality like statistics,
user management, message/file functionality. I've found an oldish PHP library which can parse the dat files in the data folder to provide this.

My plan is to build some API functionality so that I can integrate a new chat platform I have developed into the the BBS world.

I'm going to setup a quick Macicka system to do some further testing tomorrow.
