• Dual font in TALISMAN

Just wanted to post to the TALISMAN community; I did get font switching working in TALISMAN.

Font switching uses your terminal [Syncterm has all of them, Netrunner has at least Topaz..] to switch over to Amiga fonts and Sync actually has like 41 variations built right in. But the main ones are standard IBM, normal ANSI-BBS style... Amiga Topaz and Amiga Microknight. Theres also Amiga
MoSouL but most BBSes use IBM, Topaz and Microknight.

You have to display a font switch code in an ANSI file. Display any one, or all ANSI or text that you want in the secondary font. Display a font switch code to go back to IBM, so the BBS looks normal - the Amiga fonts don't display the same ANSI characters and if you don't switch back, the rest of your BBS will probably be unreadable to the end user.

    So it goes like this:
    [display]topaz.ans
    [display]yourfile.ans
    [display]codeswitch.ans [or sometimes called codepageswitch.ans]

These can also be .asc or really anything, but... mine are called topaz.ans, microknight.ans and codeswitch.ans.

You can do this using TALISMAN menu commands, or directly in lua scripts. If anyone is interested in seeing this, you can login to my BBS and get to the TALISMAN board from the eXtra's menu... [Or, 20ForBeers.com:6969 direct to TALISMAN.]

If theres interest, I can zip everything you'd need to doso, and even possibly a menu file or a lua script to show you what its like.

Otherwise, this is just data for the record.
