• Field Day 2021

From MobbyG@21:1/219 to All on Fri Apr 23 16:08:46 2021
    Hello all!

Curious to know if anyone is going to be doing Field Day? I was planning on getting a small group together either in person if possible to keep folks spaced out enough, or even a remote scenerio using VoIP.

    Anyone?

I think this is the perfect scenario for hamshack hotline conferences
(if you have HH). That way if you have to do it remote you can easily
set up a conference to talk to each other with.

I typically use HH for direct calls when a QSO dips under the noise,
and occasionally for nets. But this is a great tertiary use for it that
    I haven't seen mentioned much.

My friend W2XBS has that setup! I was looking at phones on eBay for setting that up myself! Pretty cool project!

Yeah! I agree. I may be getting a new phone for the shack come pay day.

    Hi,

We are planning to do some field day stuff with a bunch of local radio
amateurs here this summer, mainly HF and BBQ I guess. But that's a long way from where you are ;-)

When on a field day, what is/are your fav bands / modes?

    Regards,
    Rene

I'm partial to 10,20 and 40. And if I see some activity on 6 on the spotter, I'll jump in there and look for contacts.
