Hi all,
When I open legend of the red dragon door using NTVDMx64 I get a unable to open com port error. Has anyone come across this before? The door runs perfect under win 10 32 bit with NTVDM. But trying to move to win 10 64 bit.
Any input appreciated.

First thing I would ask is, does the computer have a com port? If not just download a virtual com port program and create one, because I run my Door Server in a Virtual machine and my host system does not have a serial port. I use a program called Virtual Serial Ports Emulator VSPE for short, its a pay program but does the job very nicely.. I am sure there are tons of free ones if this is indeed the issue..

You're leaving out many details. But based on this:

I'm making the assumption that you are using the DX menu command and in turn were using DOSXTRN/SBBSEXEC to provide a virtual UART. This only functions under Win32. Under Windows 64 that COM port is not present and thus Windows will throw the error when the door attempts to open it.

You'll need to first reconfigure LORD to use FOSSIL. Then, download and install NetFoss64 (start with version 1.25). Once you have both set up, change the menu to run command DD to call nf64.bat and in turn load LORD.

Done that, script runs gives no error but the door doesn't run. Tried it with different doors and get the same result. The doors run ok from the command line so ntvdmx64 is working ok. Not sure if it is win 10 21h2 64 bit ltsc causing problems

You're loading the fossil driver, then the door with parameters, correct? You've got lord configured for fossil support in each node? I'm doing something similar, but using win 11 64 bit with EleBBS. My command looks
like:

c:\ele\nf\nf.bat c:\ele\doors\lord\start.bat *N *ULORD

start.bat is standard. LORDCFG has fossil driver and dorinfo1.def as drop files for each node.

Oh, I'm using nf.bat instead of nf64.bat as I didn't want to have to change
200 menu items.. nf.bat includes the following:

Are you connecting in via SSH? If so, try using telnet or rlogin instead.
