From Sean Dennis@1:18/200 to All on Thu Feb 13 15:49:20 2020
    Hello All.

If you want to create a new echo, just create it on your system and connect to other various hubs. If you want to get onto the NAB, netmail Janis Kracht, Dallas Vinson, and Mark Lewis to have them set it up on their hubs. We seem to
now have competing Elist bots being made in Zone 1 and Zone 2 (it's a mess; don't ask, I don't and I have 13 echoes).

You are all cordially invited to connect to the ECHO_ADS echo which is on the NAB backbone and carried worldwide to advertise your echoes. Yep, I'm the echo
    moderator. :P

    Later,
    Sean

It is not complecated. There are two of us working on a new elist program/process.

Both are working from different points of viewpoint as to how it will work, on what platform/s etc.

They are each in a different state regarding deveopment and testing.

So you have a better chance of getting what is required within a reasonable time frame.

Oh GOD the Bad Boy commercials. They just aren't the same anymore. They used to have the same sleezeball production quality as Oliver the Cash Man.

In the 90's I remember the Fox channel out of Buffalo that used to air some real goodies late at night. Jim the "hammer" Shapiro was by far the best. I heard he was the reason why regulation was passed to have lawyers tone-down the content of their commercials.

You hit the nail on the head. Netmail and a handful of echos. As the RC
of region 12 I am part of the administration structure of fidonet and I only carry a small handful of echos. Apart from you and a few others, I couldn't be bothered with the bullshit. fsxNet and SciNet are way
    better at meaningful discussions.

Remember that Fidonet was originally designed for netmail. What many
Fidonet sysops don't realize that echomail was a kludge added onto the
    network!

I trade regular Netmails with several Sysops around the world. Thats
what I enjoy more than anything... friendships. Maybe more meaningful
    than Echomail.

As I said earlier in this packet to Frank, Fidonet was originally
netmail-only and echomail was a kludge that was added on later.

I'm connected directly to several Fidonet nodes just to pass netmail back
and forth without interruption (I used to have problems with my netmail

It's not nearly as bad as it used to be but there's some of the "old guard" that refuse to give up the "old ways". These days, they're mainly ignored

Really, it's neither here nor there. As long as you enjoy Fidonet for what

    Hello Sean!

Saturday February 15 2020 17:04, you wrote to me:

This was discussed with the Z1 at the time Janis who said go
ahead but Dale was also going to look at it. I had to complete a
project first before getting in to it as it was time limiting.

Yeah, I was in on the private email chain with Janis, Dallas, Mark
(Lewis), and Dale but you were never mentioned. I still have the
original PowerBASIC source code for Ben's Elist bot if you want it.

Anyone who wants it can have it.

I have that file at v4.3C dated Feb 2, 2019 but no other files such as the batch files that he
    called.

Do you have any of these ?
I will want to finish off the Mystic hooks into mine version after I have mbse version operational.

This mostly so another system can get up to speed as a parallel back up system and hopefully to take
over from me once I am happy with the program whick might be up to a year or even less.

The problem of this type of program is that you do have to hook it in to what ever mailer bbs system
you are running at least for directories used for inbound and may be outbound but not for mbse and
the name of the msg posting program aalong with its params.

This I have got set up as special compiler params that just need changing to suite the system being
    used - well that's the idea :)

    Hi Frank,

Without question, yet every time someone mentions anything that can be considered a different way of looking at things or
suggests a better way to do things all of the Perry Masons come out FL>
to play and use it like some piece of legislation.

Unfortunately, yeah. I have my opinions but I'll just keep them to myself.

    Later,
    Sean
