• Re-hatched

From Nick Andre@1:229/426 to All on Sat Jun 27 10:48:45 2020
The process which hatches files appears to have failed for Dailylist, Difflzh, Diffzip, Nodelist and Nodediff.178.

I have manually re-ran them and now everyone should have everything.

I figured something like that had happened -- I'd have messaged you
    tomorrow! :-)

    Thanks!

Thats not the big problem. Allfix just decides to stop working. Period. I've had the same thing happen with Net2BBS. Just decides to quit. Restoring from backups doesn't help so its not a file corruption, its not an anti-virus problem, etc. I've studied the output of a process monitor/debugger very carefully.

I can only conclude that maybe they just want to retire after decades of service, or they are fed up with my abuse, or both.

Yes, I've had that happen on more than one occasion -- and I don't
understand why a complete restore doesn't fix it. Only a reinstall
(after deletion) seems to work -- SUCH a pain. I'd replace it if there
were anything equivalent (DOS under Windows 10 32 bit) <sigh>

I refuse to re-install Windows or consider an alternative OS. That is
simply not an option for this particular system.

I agree - I meant to reinstall Allfix.
