reminds me of the line "This is my brother Daryl and my other brother Daryl.." in the Bob NewHart sitcom.

Years ago, I was in the Singles Ministry of a local
church, but I got the coffee and donuts for the entire
group prior to "Sunday School". You wouldn't believe how
many folks MUST HAVE their coffee and donuts to get
started in the morning. :P
If it weren't for the hobbies of ham radio, the BBS, and
square dancing (all of them have computer work in some
way), I probably would be in an insane asylum right now.
Well, one Saturday night into Sunday morning, I got hit
by a bad case of food poisoning, flu, or..
...I have to call 911 to get an ambulance to the local
Emergency Room, as I can't quit "doing it out of both
ends"..
Yet, I heard the next week that "my name was being cussed
out, etc." because "the coffee, orange juice, and donuts,
weren't ready". That ENDED my work with that...I thought
"you ungrateful people!!".
Wow.. the Daryl/Darell comment triggered a slew of memories for
ya! :)
We all have our own ways to live and cope.
SO, you left the church property in an ambulance?
I think you shared that story before. What I don't understand
is if you left the church in an ambulance, surely the there
would have been many people who noticed - you know, witnesses.
And.. during your egress, too bad you didn't delegate the
coffee/donut/OJ task to someone else - publicly.
In any case, it usually just takes one person to complain that
they don't have their precious donut.
It reminds me of the joke where the little boy asked the
preacher what the plaques and flags on the wall
represented. The preacher replied "It's in honor all
those who died in the service". He meant the military,
but the little boy inquired "Was it for the morning or
evening service??". <G>

I like that one.
