Good evening fellow ops..
I've noticed something that is happening that used to also happen back in 2015 or so when I was running, with just about the same setup, which is the lastest build from source under ubuntu linux and dosemu.
when I'm running an external program, lets say legend of the red dragon. under umonitor or the guimonitor in the node actions it will list me, or other users as running a completely different external program. I don't know if I had figured out before what I was doing, or if its just something that may go away with a complete shutdown and restart, but it just throws me off a bit.. otherwise it operates fine, it's just showing incorrect node activity.
Try other methods of listing node activity too to see if you can narrow it down: the node utility (exec/node), nodelist.js (run with jsexec), listing nodes on the BBS (e.g. /L). Also, which version of umonitor are you referring to? --

lets see.. umonitor 3.20 and gtkmonitor. I shut the bbs down last night for a backup and now its working correctly. if/when it does come back up I'll come back with more relevent information.
If would create an issue at gitlab.synchro.net, someone will likely address this difference in behavior between different node listing utils in the future. Thanks,

I went ahead a created the issue in gitlab: https://gitlab.synchro.net/main/sbbs/-/issues/392

Those particular utilities use the *index* number of the external program (as it appears in your ctrl/xtrn.ini file), so if you add or remove external programs, those indexes can change and you would need to reload the configuration in those programs.
Other utilities and scripts use the internal code of the external progarm instead, which is more static/stable (doesn't change when other programs are inserted or removed).
