    Hi all,

Me and Claude have been working on a program called sixelview which will convert various file formats to sixel and display in their own viewer. This doesn't require any external programs such as Imagemagik so it does make thing a little slower, but it's totally portable between systems without having to rely on OS tools.

It currently works on the following file formats:

PDF, PNG, JIF, GIF, SIX (sixel), BMP, and PPM.

I'm especially excited about the PDF viewer, though I've only tested it on a small number of documents, it easily handled the BBC Micro User Guide which comes in at over 500 pages. It has a Goto page function and you can invert the video so you have white on black rather than black on white.

All the information you need is in the readme file. Just download and extract. If you can't figure out how to extract a file, you shouldn't be running a BBS. :)

You can get the files by logging into endofthelinebbs.com and head over to the Local > BBS Related file area or grab it from:

    https://www.endofthelinebbs.com/sixelview-1.00.tar.gz

    or

    https://www.endofthelinebbs.com/sixelview-1.00.zip

Some demo files are included if you wish to install them but you can choose not to.

Please let me know what you think and, as always, there is no warranty other than to know it works for me.
