    TTBOMK, there isn't one :(

    strings.

Yep, sure is and I guess the chances of a full English translation are
pretty slim, as the original author ceased development of the software in 2007.

I reached the author several pre-covid months ago. He said
that although he was excited that his program was having
interest and getting use, he nolonger had the original files
(lost by several moves, or something else).

Just call me Slim. WinPoint has been revived. WinPoint Echo has been requested and waiting setup. I was able to work with original developer to get it going again.

    So stay tuned.

That is most excellent. Maybe I reached the wrong original
author, or I misunderstood the problem. I had a brief email
    exchange with Tim Schattkowsky [timschat@gmx.de].

WOW, best news I've had for a looooong time.

WinPoint Echo has been requested and waiting setup.

Yep, just seen a message from the elist bot in "ELIST" that the echo
has been successfully added. I'll be requesting the echo from my
    BossNode straight away.

For anyone else that's interested, the echo tag is WINPOINT

I was able to work with original developer to get it going again.

Thought I'd never see the day and thank you so much for this.

    So stay tuned.

    I'm all ears :)

Not the email address I was using. I am working the code now to update it in a number of areas and Tim is also working behind the scene as well. No ETA at the moment as we get everything tested and some key changes we knew folks were asking about (ie fully translated).

Anyway, we are moving forward to have some fun.

I tracked Prof. Dr Tim down at the GMX university.

Will an existing install be able to be overlayed with english
files? I already have a working config of Winpoint.

It should be fun....At least for me. :) I have been going thru the code learning the package. There is some work to be done before it can be released since it requires a little cleanup and testing but it is coming.

The configuration of WinPoint is currently stored in the Registry. The language files are currently INI based files (ie text) that are tied to the application. The only thing that should have to be updated will be the ini files or other external files that will handle the language.

Should be able to drop in place without impacting the Current install of WinPoint.

Take a peek at the info Martin and I came up with about WinPoint in the "[WinPoint] CONS" section in the comparison table here:

We summarized many of the irksome issues that would be nice to have addressed. Note the references of the notes to [*3] [*4] and [*5] too.

Yes, good idea but it should be noted that the list is not a complete
list of things that need fixing. In addition, I feel that certain
parts of the programme need a bit of re-designing.

We've highlighted a significant number of the most niggly things. For me, "● does not support incoming areafix lists that are in lowercase [*3]" was a disappointment.

Hopefully Dale will be able adjust things once we have a fully English version.

Yeah and my biggest niggle by far is the message editor, particularly

Excellent and I sent you an addition to the list on 03.02.21 by crash netmail. Since then, I've thought of a couple more items that need looking
