So, who else has upgraded to ArcaOS5? What are your thoughts?

Personally I think it is pretty darn good. It's snapper than eCS, boot
time is quick. I have had a few issues trying to install it on newer
hardware. But I am not concerned with that aspect just yet. I'll wait
till an update release before I attempt to put it on newer hardware.
But it installs and runs great on my Thinkpad T43's.

I would agree with you on all points. The only problem I had was migrating an existing eCS system to ArcaOS -- ArcaOS does not have a migration or upgrade option so you have to do a clean install.

    How about WiFi?
I've seen a report that it isn't quite ready for that yet.

    For me it's essential.

    Have a nice day,

Sadly, when I was installing it on my higher end T43, it did see the
WiFi adapter, but I knew I was going wired, so I removed the adapter
before ever testing it, I wasn't in the "Hey, this is a new OS, I should
test stuff" mindset. But it did see the adapter.

My other T43 doesn't have a WiFi adapter in it, but I might try to
pickup a wifi adapter for it and try one of the card adapters.

I thought every laptop did have the built-in antenna to receive the free on-the-air radio signals. At least my Lenovo's T23 and T61, and my Dell
laptop can use those net signals.

    Have a good night,
