Heh. Haven't seen that one. Did just pick up the newest one, planning
on watching this afternoon if there's time.
Haven't seen it yet... I enjoyed Genesys though, and I understand
this 'wipes that away' ?

Its pretty hard to have any kind of a payoff with a central character being killed off at the beginning. And it just had an unnecessary
"woke" vibe to it.
Why couldn't everyone leave it alone after T2...
The new Rambo wasn't much better. Some actors need to know when to
hang up the sneakers and start focusing on roles that better suit
their age.
But normally I like spy, military, actionk and sports flicks.
Frankly, I haven't seen any lately that really captured my attention.
Recent movies I liked were Fury and Inglorious Basterds. Not exactly recent guess.
Simple, money. Terminator 1 and 2 made so much money and they just wanted to make more. It was never about having a story to tell.. it was just money.

I saw the original in the theater years ago. I thought it was OK and
never looked at the others at all. ;)
I liked all the alien movies although the original was the best.
I remember when T2 came out, it was "the" movie of '91...
I remember it being new and 'different' as well! Different from the first, different from other movies of the time!

I honestly think that a good part of that was the fact that it had a new Guns-n-Roses song in it. :)

How anyone decided this was a good idea, how it got written, cast, filmed, produced, approved by a major studio is beyond freaking amazing.

The newest Rambo I'm kinda undecided about it. I liked the storyline,
til the cartel came to his farm which he turned into a little Vietnam warzone. It was sad what happened to his niece, and kinda 'real world'.

Totally agreed, it just went downhill after T2. It was like T3 they
wanted to show viewers how far CG came. It LOOKED great, dead
storyline.
Movies, at least before COVID, were made to sell tickets and put butts in the seats of the theaters. If it accomplishes that, it's a successful business venture. It doesn't have to 'hold up' in the long run.
Sad, but true. LOL

Can't wait til it's 'safe' to go back. I want to see Black Widow. Can't think of any other movies I want to see yet, but hopeful there will be something I want to see. One of the 'good' things about summer. alot of the good movies I tend to gravitate to, comes out during the summer.
I'm at the point now where I'll wait on romcoms, dramas, mysteries, etc. and watch them at home.
If a film merits a big screen and theater audio, I'll go. I've recently watched Dunkirk and 1917 on my 46" home TV and I'm glad I saw both in the theater.
