    Joe,

Besides the body's liver is its "poison control center".

I don't think I would care to eat any filtration system...

    Ugh...there goes my appetite. :P

Yet, the cafeterias that served those have shut down, due to
COVID-19. Before my Dad got sick, and died of pancreatic cancer...
when they announced one of the cafeterias was going out of
business (this was before COVID-19), he lamented "I'm going to
    starve to death!!" <G>.

Golden Corral is still in North Little Rock, but because of
COVID-19, while it's still "all you can eat", they serve you...
and there are far less tables in the dining area.

You all talking about Liver brought a Memory to my mind.

When I was stationed at N.A.S. Alameda I would go to the Chow Hall with
    another Radioman in my outfit.

He didn't like to eat Steak but LOVED eating Liver.
I am the opposite I LOVE eating Steak but HATE the taste of Liver.

When there was Steak on the Menu, He would get one put on his tray, and give
it to me when we got seated at a table, so I didn't have to get in the Chow Line again after I finished eating what I got on my Tray the first trip
through the Chow Line, to get a Second Steak to eat.

When Liver was on the Menu I had a piece of Liver put on my Tray to give to
Him when we got to the table to eat.

If the Steak was extra good, I would get in the Chow Line to get a Third
    piece of Steak.

I was just trying to help out my Well Rounded Physique.

He's also a ham radio operator who loves CW. He'd go down to Florida in the dead of winter, and work CW on HF up into Canada, telling them how warm and beautiful the weather was in Florida (sunny and in the 80's), while areas of Canada were in the middle of snowstorms and bitter cold. You could just "hear" them asking "Will you shut up about the weather??". Or like the tagline "The Weather Is Here...Wish You Were Beautiful". <G>

I seldom eat out in a dining room type place. And since this Covid
business I haven't at all. A lot of places with seated dining have been closed and offered only take away.
Some places have started sidewalk dining*, with limited menus, but with cooler weather coming I imagine they will be a fix again.
Usually before Covid I picked up FF maybe once every six weeks or two
    months anyway.
I do miss the Chinese place I went to a couple of times a year.
(*Reminds me of a joke of a fella in Paris for the first time which is
known for sidewalk dining. The fella looked around and said all those places must have gone out of business, their furniture is out on the sidewalk).

    Joe,

First, it's good to see activity in here again. After all, we had to
rouse you from your slumber, to take care of your moderator duties. <g,d,r>

I seldom eat out in a dining room type place. And since this Covid business I haven't at all. A lot of places with seated dining have
been closed and offered only take away.

That's what this little "hole in the wall" place about a mile from my
home is...H.B.'s BBQ". It has been in business since 1961. It doesn't
have a drive thru, and only a small dining room. Due to COVID-19, it has
become "call ahead and take out" only. Plus, they take CASH ONLY -- no
checks, debit, or credit cards. If open on Monday, you can order ribs on Tuesday.

Some places have started sidewalk dining*, with limited menus, but
with cooler weather coming I imagine they will be a fix again.

Probably so. Much cooler weather is forecast here after a strong cold
front moved through overnight. I had the BBS down until this morning, and
we took a close lightning hit about 3am.

Usually before Covid I picked up FF maybe once every six weeks or two months anyway.

When I eat out, it saves the food at home, when I can't go out. This is
due to weather, or I can't afford to go out. I'm down to just a few White Castle Cheeseburgers, and some cheese danish...although I have plenty of flavored water. So, I'm eating maybe 4 of those "small" (dinner roll) cheeseburgers, and maybe 2 cheese danish a day...and all that in one meal (lunch). So, I likely won't eat again until tomorrow...but I needed to eat something to take the medicines that I have (I hate having to take things
    with food).

I do miss the Chinese place I went to a couple of times a year.

I never did care for much besides American or Italian. I've had some
Mexican, but the key is that the flavor has to be MILD.

(*Reminds me of a joke of a fella in Paris for the first time which
is known for sidewalk dining. The fella looked around and said all
those places must have gone out of business, their furniture is out on
    the sidewalk).

Also, in Paris...there's a big oil derrick in the center of town, that
    never came in. <G>

Several downtown places have done that.
And FF drive thru's around near downtown and in residential areas offer

Its funny seeing a line of cars with people standing around between them.

    Plus, they take CASH ONLY

Some businesses have exact change only signs posted by the registers,

    Joe,

become "call ahead and take out" only.

Several downtown places have done that.

The local Subway has that, and also a longtime "Hole In The Wall",
H.B.'s BBQ, about a mile from here. If they're open on Monday, you
can order ribs on Tuesday. I personally love their BBQ Pork Sandwich.
But, they take CASH ONLY (no debit or credit cards).

And FF drive thru's around near downtown and in residential areas
offer walk up service. (Daylight hours only).

Most of the FF places don't allow walk-ups at the drive thru, as it
    made for "robbery potential".

Its funny seeing a line of cars with people standing around between them.

Maybe it'll make it so they can find their vehicles easier. <G>

    Plus, they take CASH ONLY

Some businesses have exact change only signs posted by the
registers, but I've not see anyone refused service who didn't have
exact change. I never have been refused. (This is just observation,
    not any scientific study).

I joked "Ipso Facto, Change Exacto"...especially when I was head cashier
at a local Burger King 40 years ago. Now, they want you to pay with exact change...or PREFERABLY with your credit or debit card.

I'm down to just a few White Castle Cheeseburgers

Ah, their famous (or infamous) sliders.
We have no WC's here. We did years ago.

They're also known as "gut grenades" (bowel bombs :P -- for the onions). Maybe I should add Bush's Baked Beans to them after I cook them. I'm the
    only one here, so... <G>

Also, in Paris...there's a big oil derrick in the center of town,
    that never came in. <G>

Yeah, one would think that rusty old thing would have been torn now
    by now.

Reminds me of the pantomime that the late Red Skelton did...the couple wanted to go to the top of the Eiffel Tower. The thing is...the old man
wanted to take the elevator, but his wife wanted to take the stairs. :P
