The special panel of dogs that they keep to test the new and improved
stuff... as long as they hoover it in, the stuff is considered to be
improved tasting... ;) If the dogs turn up their noses at it, and
start heading for the testers, then it's back to the drawing board...

Wouldn't work with cats, in my experience.
Whatever they were given they would turn up their nose, give me a
"you expect me to eat that slop?" look and walk away. Then when I
wasn't paying attention they gobbled it up. :)

So, obviously, with cats testing the new and improved tasting stuff, one
has to be more subtle, and if they go back and gobble it up, then it
passes.... but if they totally ignore it, then it would fail... :)

Or they'll call the SPCA, and turn their owner in for starvation.

Good thing cats don't have opposable thumbs.... or long index
fingers.... ;) Not sure how well they read, though I do know that most understand everything that people say around them.... <G>

Besides, I wasn't thinking of conducting the test over the course of
weeks, or even days.... more like within 24 hours.... Any
self-respecting cat wouldn't starve in that short period of time...
they'd find a way to talk us into feeding them something better... :)
