This is a couple of trees i started from seed this year. One is
Avacado, the other is a Mango.

I have an avocado tree in my back yard, I didn't know you needed
another avocado tree to get it to produce fruit. Apparently, some
people have grafted a branch from another tree and gotten it to
self-pollinate.

I'd love to have a supply of avocados in my back yard...

From what I've read, an avocado tree grown from seed might or might not fruit, or the fruit might not be that tasty. Grafting helps with the fruiting.

The fruit would be nice. I'm just trying to get one to live past the transplant stage.

I'd love to have a supply of avocados in my back yard... ...

I have a Honey Locust and a Black Locust that I have grown from seed. The Honey Locust suffered some with the late frosts this year and never really re-leafed out fully, but the Black Locust is doing quite well. I have since had one come up nearby "wild."

I also have a Tulip Poplar that grew up as a volunteer in a flower bed. I transplanted it about 5 years ago and it is doing well.

I have some Kentucky Coffeetree seeds that I need to get going here
sometime soon.

I've got about 9 crepe myrtles, primarily from cuttings growing. Mostly a laven
er color, but a red and a white as well. Also a Fig tree which has fruited qui
e well this year, and a lone Oak from seed. It was a giant acorn, size of a go
f ball.

Some crepe myrtles came with the house. About 7 of them. Most of them are white. A couple are pinkish, and one is more purple/lavender. I did not realize how nice they smell until I bought this house. One of the white
ones was a tree. The wood has a lot of water in it, so they freeze easily.
About 4-5 years ago, the tree froze and most of the limbs died off. It
came back from the roots as more of a bush, and a funny looking one at that.

That is one thing about them, when they freeze and die back, they sometimes come back looking pretty wild.

I've a few i need to try and get started here pretty soon as well. A few more >vocado and some peach.

I don't think either of those grow well here. When I was a kid, my parents bought a house that had two peach trees in it. One of them did not fruit
much, but the other one grew a *bunch* of fruit that would grow to about
double the size of a crabapple and then fall off the tree green. About all that !@#%#@$ tree was good for was drawing yellow jackets into the yard.
It was a pain in the rear to mow around when they were swarming about.
Luckily we finally cut it down.

My father wanted a garden so they moved the other one. It never seemed to
grow as many leaves after that. It usually looked pretty sorry compared to
the other one but, after the move, it did grow some actual peaches some
years. They would grow to full size and actually be edible.
