Would reducing the backbone.na and merging some of the echoes into 1 might one idea to simplify fidonet?

The problems are that we still need a common list of echo tags available to link to, and backbone.na mostly serves that purpose.
We have moderators who don't actively promote and contribute to their echoe - and a handful of moderators hanging on to many dead echoes.

Backboning is a thing from the past. Except for a tiny handful of
systems in North America and one in Europe, nobody really gives a
shite.
