    I am using the same desktop I have had for years and read my QWK
    packets using BlueWave in a virtual XP window. Don't intend to change.

    Noted.

    That's my story and I'm sticking to it:-}}

    Absolutely! You work with what you are comfortable with. Excellent.

    But QWK's 25 char limit in the subject s cutting off my
    beautifully thought out subjects! LOL

    In today's fido, not a lot of attention is paid to subject lines anyhow. They last forever, no matter what the subject is. Plus, in tonight's
    QWK packet for this echo, every subject line except yours was well under
    25 characters. I.e. most people are not bothered by the limitation.

    Well, I guess I fall into the lessor group of your study. I skip messages that bear a subject that has proven to be "off" topic. I don't know if
    you read newsgroups, but the subject is a key factor there, primariily due
    to the high volume in many cases. Fidonet echos are extremely low volume,
    so *any* message seems a welcome read in many cases than having nothing.

    I dunno how you can accept that! :/

    I do not have a lot of choice. It is just one of those things that QWK users have to bear.

    QWK is a very clever invention. QWKE is even lil'bit better! The
    "future" awaits. Albiet, it is still kinda like "back to the future" in
    this case. LOL
