    Hi Flavio,

    On 2021-01-16 11:55:07, I wrote to you:

I'll try another one as a 'PING' message. Maybe I tet some clues
    about the route it takes...

Thanks! Let me know of your findings...

    Nothing comes back.

I've asked my uplink, where I route netmail for Zone 4, where he is routing
to. So I'm going to try and trace it "manually".

My uplink (2:280/5003) tells me he has a direct link with you. There were the hostname issues, and now there might be a password problem for the secure link between your systems. So there might be some pkts waiting for processing in your insecure inbound...

    Bye, Wilfred.

I've sent Flavio a netmail from this address as well, but so far I am unsure if he received it, as I haven't seen a reply.

I'm not sure if itps related or not, but I have been unable to connect with
my Z4 Boss on my Z4 point in a little while either.

The problem for my routed netmail to him has been explained (see my echomail to Flavio in here). And I don't think it's directly related to your problems, but might have partly the same cause: the hostname issues for Flavio's system.

    Bye, Wilfred.

Thanks Mike, got your netmail here, just replied it.

In jamnntpd config you can set "noreplyaddr". Then it won't add @replyaddr kludge at all.

Thanks for the tip, I will check my config then.

    Hello Charles,

I just double-checked and haven't received your netmail either.

Let me know who is your Z4 boss, I can contact him and check what happened.

It is not unusual for Z1-bound or Z1-originating netmails to end up in a black hole.

The reason for that is the old nonsensical routing schemes from the old days where the power-people routed netmail away from the nodelist topology.
Power-lords changed or vanished and with them the non-standard routing tracks too, often making netmail undeliverable. In my zone too, individuals have been involved in setting up their own routing business making netmail sometimes fail.

In this zone, if someone has out-of-zone netmail and delivers it to my system, then it will guaranteed reach the correct destination zone.

In your zone, make certain it gets delivered to Nick Andre, he doesn't lose netmail and will deliver it at the correct zone too.

    Simple. No?

It makes sense, although I'm actually getting my feed through Z2, just to add interest to the mix. I have a Boss node there from one of my points that always has been consistant service for me, so when I got an actual node I
asked if I could get my feed through him.

    Now I discovered another problem:

    D:\FIDO6\BINKD>ping saturnsorbit.hopto.org
Ping-Anforderung konnte Host "saturnsorbit.hopto.org" nicht finden. Überprüfen Sie den Namen, und versuchen Sie es erneut.

The nodelisted hostname for your system does not resolve. I can not make a direct connect to your system.
