    Hello All,

Does somebody know where I can get a conversion tool to convert *.msg files on a MS-Dos system with Frontdoor to *.pkt files, and back?

I do need that for transport of netmail from points 2:280/1208.* to other systems by BinkP with !ROSBink on an other system and and vice versa receiving netmail too.
I.e. when netmail arrives here, it is converted from *.pkt to *.msg,
then rerouted from point 2:280/1208.0 (Zero) to Point 2:280/1208.1
and than stays here forever, as the RS232 serial port is defective ;-(.
So Point 1 can not poll by analogue modem to this node.

With the asked tool I can convert *.msg mail back to *.pkt to transport
it by floppy diskette to my Point 1 system 10 mm to the right of this Node. And for outgoing netmail to the binkp system for transport in FidoNet.

If no such tool exist, which I can hardly beleive, then both the *.msg layout and the *.pkt layout are necessarry to build such a tool myself. But my programming capabilities are very less to achieve that task.
So my hope is to receive or DownLoad a good conversion tool.

If someone wants to know, I can support a list of software running and available at UniCorn BBS.
A little chance could be that such software has conversion capabilities too for this task, I am not aware off.

    Thanks to everyone in advance.

I am stuck on the fact you still have a floppy disk.....

These kinds of utilities already exist.... I do not know what you are using
to toss your mail.... BUT for example fastecho has a pack command that will convert msg to pkt and send it out. FrontDoor has utilities that will send those files to a specific directory as well.... so that you may later collect them.

There is a mail tosser called fmail that will toss your netmail in pkt form
to a specific directoy as well .... not sure if it comes in a DOS flavor. Fmail is actively worked on, author is in fidonet and reads the fmail echo.

Not sure if I helped you...

Still thinking about the floppy drive...

I keep one handy for the occasion when someone will tell me "I've got these disks and can't read them anymore".

So far no-one in my neighborhood made the remark, but I know someone will 5 minutes after I throw the drive out.

Still thinking about the floppy drive...

How 'bout an accoustic coupler ... :-)
