I didn't get married until I was 43...but never dreamed I'd be a widower at 47.
And, right now, I can't see getting married again.
It may happen. you never know. I am still married to the same girl. 50 ye JD>later.
Kudos to you, sir. :) My Mom and late father were married just over 54 years, before pancreatic cancer took his life.
Nowadays, there seems to be "no commitment"...consider the
following...at 3 different receptions after they were united in Holy Matrimony (it seemed more like holey acrimony <G>):
1) 15 minutes after being married, the couple wanted a divorce.
2) The groom angrily tore up the marriage license.
3) The bride and groom got into a knock down, drag out, whup your ass fight.
And, at the altar, when the preacher said "If anyone feels that this couple should not be married...let them speak now, or forever hold
their peace"...IT WAS THE BRIDE WHO SPOKE UP!! The preacher about had a heart attack, and both families were livid with rage, as THEY HAD SPENT ALL THAT MONEY!!
Stranger things have happened. Still, I told my daughter, that if she felt JD>was not right, even up to the last moment, she should not get married. Bett JD>that, then a life of misery, or the above scenarios.

Exactly. I've heard of couples getting married on a Friday, and
they're in divorce court on Monday...as well as couples getting married
on New Years Eve, then divorcing after New Years Day, just so they
could show that they were married at the end of the year.
