There is an echo called "TAGLINES" where some taglines are posted
regularly. Just rescan that echo and you should get some :)

Too bad there wasn't a zip file one could just download. While
there are a ton of taglines there, you'd have to go through and
weed out the duplicates. But, then the question is if there's a
maximum number of taglines that your QWK Mail Reader (OLX, SLMR,

Even if there were standards, taglines are not specific to FidoNet so saying they must be coupled with a tearline wouldn't work.

I may change it to place itself directly above the tear line, but personally I kind of like the blank space above it. Open to hearing more opinions though if people have them.

If it is an echomail message, yes, there should be a tearline unless you put in a PID kludge in the message. In netmail, no tearline or origin line and if you go by custom, no tagline either.

However, using high ASCII characters to start a tagline instead of "..." is frowned upon in Fidonet (and several other FTN networks) because of possible issues with those characters being misinterpreted. I know in QWK networks there is no high ASCII restriction.

I may change it to place itself directly above the tear line, but personally I kind of like the blank space above it. Open to hearing

From what I've seen in my time hanging out around these parts, in echomail, it's "tagline-tearline-origin line" without any spaces between. I've also seen plenty of messages where people put a space in between the tagline and the tearline/origin combo.

I'd say if you're going to do this, put in an option to leave a space between the tagline and the tearline/origin combo. I have seen people who use cookies (basically a multiple-line tagline) and they normally put a space between the cookie and the tearline/origin combo.

Thank you for continuing to develop Mystic. I appreciate your effort and time invested in your software!

I think I have about five or six console editors installed on my
Windows box but about 20 installed on my Linux box and probably that
many installed on my ArcaOS box. Though my favorite editor in OS/2 is TEDIT.EXE and my favorite Linux editor is joe. I do have nano and FTE installed on all three boxes though.

    Why?

    Because I can.

I've seen that also. I actually knew someone back in the early
80s, when the IBM PC first came out, who did just that.

Have you ever used Boxer? (Available on various platforms including OS/2. Quite powerful. TEdit is quite good too!

    Why?

    Because I can.

    Best reason. <grin>

Would vote on it being optional, like the Cowbell feature.
One can always use more cowbell.
    Christopher Walken told me so.

I have a fever and there is only one cure... more cowbell!

Did everyone else 'hear' Walken in your head when you read this? :-)

Taglines have always been an option, not a requirement. I like taglines but
    know many that do not.

Which is why when I modded the EDITOR.WCC file in WINS on my system, I
made it so that the WCX always asks if you want to use a tagline. Might update it again to have that setting recorded in the user's database
    record.

    ... That's no Tagline! It's Odo!
