• auto login without checking system password

From MRO@VERT/BBSESINF to digital man on Sat May 14 10:53:53 2022
hello, it logs me in without asking for my sysop password.

is there some toggle to switch it back to the old way? i'd rather
not have to edit in something.

    thanks,

Did you mean to say "system password"? It should prompt for it during logon when logging in as a user with a security level of >= 90.

Do you ave SCFG->System->Toggle Options->Require Sys Pass During Logon set to "No"? It defaults to "Yes".

okay that was it. i didnt even know that feature was there and didnt mess around with my scfg in that section since forever.

i kinda disagree with that feature. why did you include that?

Here's the commit message for that change:
Added SCFG->System->Toggle Option->Require Sys Pass for Sysop Login
(should default to current behavior: Yes). Set to No to not require the system password while logging in as a system operator (level >= 90). The system password will be required while logged-on and performing administrative-like operations.
    Added by request from Altere.

i'm not sure what toggled it. i transplanted the files in, and ran the jsexec update.js. my old version was 3.17 i think.

it's good that it asks you when you run admin commands but i think it's best to have it ask for system password at login.

Well that's a matter of opinion/preference. Having the option is good, I think. --
