• *stupid* SyncTerm question [curses/sdl/x11 under Raspian]

From paulie420@VERT/PAULIE42 to All on Tue Jul 7 01:20:55 2020
So, I did search and hunt...

I recently built Syncterm on a Raspberry Pi 4... with the new Raspberry Pi OS. (Raspian, they just renamed it...)

SyncTerm won't load from the GUI - the mouse cursor shows a hourglass for too long, then just disappears...

It does load from the CLI, however it'll only load in curses mode. So, ALT+keys don't work (It's Ctrl..) but the main thing is that I can't go full screne. Alt+Enter actually crashes the app. Also, its running in a term emulator so theres an open, unusable terminal too.

[Also, I think this is that issue another poster had when they 'couldn't Alt+Enter to go full screen.]

I can't force SDL nor X11 modes... I did just install xorg-dev; as synchronet wiki suggests... and I think the issue is because of some missing software link that the Raspberry Pi OS doesn't have?

Any ideas? Lastly, I will update with a reply when I iron it out... if someone doesn't have the answer at the ready. :P

    Thanks kindly..

Hit up Deuce in #synchronet at irc.synchro.net.
He'll want to know things like, which exact version of SyncTERM you're building/running, environment varibles (DISPLAY, TERM, etc.), but he's the one that'll help or any other SDL2 application support help you can find online (SyncTERM 1.1 is an SDL2 application).
