one thing that is 'new to me' and pretty is i found out
that 7zip can open up vmare and other container files.

so i dont have to get my vm working and loaded up to get files from it.
i can just use 7zip to get what i need.

and the version of vmware i use got rid of the mounting feature so 7zip is great for me.

Yes, I've used 7zip to open & extract ISO files, but didn't know it could open vmware files too.

and not only does it DO it, it does it well and correctly.

Yes, I've used 7zip to open & extract ISO files, but didn't know it

it'll also open .exe installers. probably msi too. sometimes you can extract what you want from the installer without doing the whole charade
