I would hazard a guess that you have zero users because of the
ridiculous port you are using. How do you expect any potential
new user to know that port, or even how to point their terminal
    program to such a number?

Perhaps because of the ad he's posting (which also has the address of his BBS). And you don't expect people to actually learn how to use the software they're using? :P

Because it's 2019 bra... Who cares if the "know" it? As long as the USE it...

    Why is it ridiculous again?

Yeah, I guess. Just seems kind of ...odd... to me.

I continue to hold out hope, against all odds. ;-)

Yeah, perhaps I was a little hasty with my comment, and maybe
    "ridiculous" isn't the right word...

I guess it's because I doubt the ability of most potential users
to know how to specify a port to be used by their telnet client...
most will just put in the hcow.dynu.net part and not understand
    why it doesn't connect.

Hope you get some users. They sure are a rare bird these days.

I was just bustin your balls. I purposely chose this port for two reasons...
    1. I don't care about users i just wanted the nostalgia of putting up a sync bbs again... i really don't standard ports returning anything hoping to avoid bots n stuff.

    2. 6th letter, 1st letter, 9th letter 12th letter of alphabet spells: FAIL
